In this video, Dylan Dethier, a writer for GOLF magazine, tours the Alaska Golf Courses to find out the kind of experience a golfer can have in the largest state in the U.S.
Despite the state being so massive, there are only 22 Alaska Golf Courses.
One of them is the Homer Gold course, owned by couple Scott and Esa Woodland. They call it a labor of love, and it is indeed a beautiful 9-hole par-3 course with some spectacular views.
As Dylan discovers, Alaska has a pristine and rugged natural beauty that makes it an ideal place to play a round of golf. Alaska golf courses have a lot of charm, and if the weather’s right, one can really have a boatload of fun.
The Homer Golf Course was built in 1982 and has been in operation for 30 years. Scott and Esa acquired it in 2014 from the previous owners. They have dedicated themselves to making sure Homer has the best greens among all Alaska Golf courses and hope to turn it into a world-famous course.
